Text instead of image
Create high-quality EAN-13 barcodes easily, quickly and flexibly. Unlike many other apps that generate barcodes as rigid images, GTINmaker creates the barcodes as flexible text.
Perfectly suited
The barcodes generated by most programs are stored individually (barcode by barcode) as an image (PNG, JPG, PDF, EPS, etc.) on the user's computer. One file per barcode. After that, the image files have to be placed and formatted in the respective application program. This workflow is particularly time-consuming, exhaustive and error-prone when it comes to changes and corrections.
Not so with GTINmaker. You simply copy all the created encoded strings from GTINmaker to the clipboard and paste them back to the desired location in your application. Then format the inserted text with a GTINmaker font and you’re done. Corrections of one or more barcodes can also be done very quickly and easy in the same way.
Lists
When creating order lists, columns for article numbers, names, prices, etc. are usually listed in tabular form. For easier identification, the 12 or 13 digits of the GTIN are often also displayed. An additional column for a machine-readable barcode is often requested.
No problem with GTINmaker. Copy the entire column of the 12 or 13 digits of the GTIN, have the code created, paste it back into the corresponding column of the table and format it.
Catalogues
In many product catalogs, GTINs are used to ensure machine readability. GTINmaker saves you from creating, managing, and maintaining countless barcode images.
Whether one or more EAN-13 barcodes – simply have the codes created by GTINmaker and insert them into the appropriate places in the catalog. Formatting – done.
Designs
Nowadays, you can find barcodes on almost every product packaging. This means that each product has an internationally unique number, the Global Trade Item Number.
Codes created by GTINmaker, in conjunction with the GTINmaker fonts, are an efficient tool for the creation and production of packaging designs. The high-quality EAN-13 barcodes can be used in almost any graphics program and can be formatted extensively.
Simply type...
Type the digits of the EAN-13 barcode (GTIN) you want to create into GTINmaker.
If everything is correct, the color of the digits changes from red to green and the corresponding code appears in the output box on the right. Copy it to the clipboard and paste it into the target program.
...or paste
Do you need a lot of barcodes at once? No problem! Copy the digits (one line per EAN-13 barcode) to the clipboard and paste them into GTINmaker.
If everything is correct, your input will be displayed in green and the encoded strings will appear on the right side in the output box. Now copy them to the clipboard and paste them into your target program. There, you assign them one of the GTINmaker fonts – that’s it.
With or without check digit
You can enter your digits with or without a check digit. If your input does not contain this (i.e. only 12 digits), GTINmaker will generate the check digit.
If the check digit is available (13 digits), you have to check the box “incl. check digit”. Your check digit will now be checked. If this is correct, the 13 digits are shown in green. Otherwise, the digits will remain red and you will have to correct them.
Tip: Delete your check digit and uncheck the box next to “incl. check digit”.
Quality & Precision
The GTINmaker fonts have been created by us especially for the GTINmaker app. In doing so, we have placed particular emphasis on high quality, compatibility and precision.
The GTINmaker fonts must be installed on your Mac in order to display the code generated by the GTINmaker app as an EAN-13 barcode in your target program.
There are currently four different GTINmaker fonts available. One with numbers at the bottom and one with numbers at the top, each with long and short bars.
More flexibility
GTINmaker converts the entered digits into a specially encoded string. If you paste it via the clipboard in any target program and format the inserted string with a GTINmaker font, the EAN-13 barcode will be displayed.
You can now customize the appearance of the EAN-13 barcode (font size, color, etc.). Attention! The letter spacing as well as the proportions should not be changed to maintain machine readability!
A conversion to vectors or to a pixel-based image is possible in various graphics programs. This means that nothing stands in the way of further manipulation of the EAN-13 barcode, e.g. changing the length of the bars.
Maximum compatibility
The exchange between the source program, GTINmaker and target program takes place exclusively via the system-wide clipboard as plain text. One specific line is used for each encoded string representing an EAN-13 barcode.
This means that it can be used in conjunction with the GTINmaker fonts in almost any program.
